Grade 12 Journalism Unit 8-9: Your EZine

For this double unit, you will be required to create and maintain your own EZine, a blog-like digital magazine of a topic of your choice. You will be required to post 6 entries; they may be editorials, hard news stories or creative writing pieces. Supporting images of your own creation and other media, such as video and audio are also encouraged. Give your EZine a snazzy title. Follow your classmates' Ezines and give them feedback. Finally, you will write a one-page critique of your favourite Ezine (other than your own, of course) and submit that as a j-talk.

Rubrics will be distributed in the physical world.

Examples of Ezines

N.E.E.T. is a eZine dedicated to indie fashion and "grassroots creativity". Set-up like a traditional magazine, you can "flip through" the pages by clicking on them.

Makezine is for all the tech/art nerds who love invent wired works and add their personal touches to consumer electronics. Makezine also features DIY kits of robots, rockets, games, spy gear etc. Check out the mouse mouse! Yikes!
